AFK GUILD


Away From Keyboard. This is a Suramar Alliance guild. Founded in December of 04, we have been AFK from the beginning. We are a RL Family and Friend based guild that plays for fun. That is when we aren't AFK.

AFK is just that, Away From Keyboard, this really has a solid meaning. Everyone in the guild has a Real Life and all members put Real Life in front of the game. Our guild does not punish people for having Real Lives. We rock a Fair Loot System. Meaning if you are there you get to roll for it. If you need, You Need?. We feel after years of raiding and dealing with harsh loot rules that this would benefit rule 1 the most. Play for fun. We figure ALL people in a raid should have a shot at loot. Not just the people that get to raid all the time. This also goes for Pick-ups for said raid. If you have to pick someone up to do a raid then why not let them have a shot at loot?

We have very few rules and we are very picky about our members. People should know when they see our guild tag they are dealing with people that have class.

We can not promise you loot or fast raid progression. But we can make sure that when you progress you do it with friends.

In addition to these very simple rules we do not accept Racism in any form. Zero tolerance and you will get no warning. There is no statute of limitations on this either, if no one is on to deal with it at the time and come back and hear of it happening the axe will drop.

We have no tolerance for extreme vulgarity either. This should be covered with the "KEEP GUILD CHAT PG13" but some people need a clearer explanation. If it wouldn't be in a PG13 movie it wont be allowed here. And a retort of "turn on your filter" = you will find a new guild.

We have VERY BASIC rules and if you can not follow them you should not be in any guild.
Swearing .. sometimes no big deal but constant uses of the F bomb will no longer be tolerated.

Using "Gay" as an adjective. NO. Any of this will be a perm removal. You don't like "gays"? We don't care. What we do care about is the constant use of "gay" to describe things that suck. Pick a new word or pick a new guild. Nuff said. Some of the best people you have ever met in the game just might happen to take offense to this.

General Courtesy. There seems to be a lack of this lately on every server. Asking others to join groups in guild chat and Guild members joining your group and you decide to go run something else leaving that guild member there. Agreeing to join a group with guild members and half way through a run just ninja logging. Takes one second to tell people what's up. It is not our fault that you are "grounded" from playing the game and decide to play anyway and when you get caught you have to bail. That is just BS. if your not supposed to be on the game don't put people through your drama when you have to bail.

This is one of the many reasons we avoid children. Not to say some of the younger players don't act fine. We may not have a limit on age but we do have a limit on childish behavior. Also if you must "AFK" in the middle of a run, yes it may be unavoidable. No prob tell the raid leader and if it is going to be an extended "AFK" tell them and exit the instance just in case you never come back. Nothing worse than not being able to progress cause you are watching Scooby Doo or doing your homework or you went on vacation to another country. Making an entire raid wait for you will not make you any new friends and can determine if you will ever get to go again. We know emergencies happen and this is understandable. But having 5 emergencies in one afternoon? Not so much.

If you do something/say something stupid you will be told about it .. you can learn from it and choose not to do it. Or you can backtalk and be kicked. If you are too immature to know when you should not say something you should go make your own guild. We are not a day care service. And I do not want to spend my time playing acting as a parent or guardian.

Everyone should know by the time they are 7 years old that you should be nice to people and play fair. AFK expects this from all its members as well. I think we are a fun group of people and make the game enjoyable for all. However, there will be times when you have a bad day or someone else treats you like crap. AFK members do not act like children when faced with these conflicts. Likewise, we should be respectful of all our own members as well.

Anyone found being a jerk will be subject to removal. This includes, among other things, intentionally getting other players killed, Looting items you can't use, Spamming, Begging for money or power leveling, arguing over loot. We have Zero Tolerance for arguing over loot and I Mean ZERO.
